From 23 to 26 July 2026, Le Français took part in the Douarnenez Maritime Festival, one of Brittany’s leading celebrations of maritime heritage.
Marking the festival’s 40th anniversary, this edition brought together nearly 400 vessels, from traditional small craft to majestic tall ships. Over four days, the harbour came alive with sailing demonstrations, meetings between crews, traditional craftsmanship, concerts and a wide range of activities.
This year’s programme placed particular emphasis on the connection between sailors and the public. Beyond the ships themselves, visitors had the opportunity to discover the stories, professions and traditions that shape maritime life.
During the festival, Le Français participated in several highlights of the event. The three-masted ship sailed in the bay, hosted events on board and welcomed visitors for guided tours while alongside the quay.
Stepping aboard Le Français offered visitors the chance to discover how a traditional tall ship operates, explore her living spaces, meet the crew and learn the story of a vessel built in 1948 that is still sailing today.
It was a pleasure to welcome so many visitors to Douarnenez and to share another memorable port of call.
